How to Use This Scientific Calculator
- Type an expression with your keyboard or tap the keys. A live preview shows the answer as you type.
- Tap 2nd to switch sin, cos, tan, log and the square root and square keys to their inverse or alternate versions. Choose DEG for degrees or RAD for radians before using sin, cos or tan.
- Press = to confirm. The result is saved to your history, and Ans reuses the last answer.
- Use M+, M−, MR and MC to store and recall a number.
- Tap any history line to put its result back into the calculator.
Scientific Calculator Functions Explained
| Key | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| sin, cos, tan | Trigonometric functions | sin(30) = 0.5 in DEG |
| asin, acos, atan | Inverse trigonometric functions | asin(0.5) = 30 in DEG |
| ln | Natural logarithm (base e) | ln(e) = 1 |
| log | Common logarithm (base 10) | log(1000) = 3 |
| √ and ∛ | Square root and cube root | √(16) = 4 |
| x², x³, xy | Powers and exponents | 2^10 = 1024 |
| n! | Factorial | 5! = 120 |
| mod | Remainder after division | 10 mod 3 = 1 |
| % | Divides by 100 | 50% = 0.5 |
| π and e | Constants | 2π = 6.28318530718 |
Degrees vs Radians (DEG and RAD)
Angles can be measured in degrees (a full circle is 360°) or radians (a full circle is 2π). Most school geometry uses degrees, while calculus and physics often use radians. The same input gives different answers: sin(30) is 0.5 in DEG mode but about −0.988 in RAD mode. Always check the mode shown on the DEG/RAD button.
Order of Operations (PEMDAS / BODMAS)
This calculator follows the standard order: brackets first, then exponents and roots, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction.
Exponents are evaluated right to left, so 2^3^2 equals 2^(3^2) = 512. Implicit multiplication such as 2π or 3(4 + 1) works too.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this scientific calculator free?
Yes. It is a free web app with no sign-up, ads in the calculator or downloads. It works in your browser on phones, tablets and computers.
How do I switch between degrees and radians?
Tap the DEG/RAD button above the display. DEG means degrees and RAD means radians. The mode affects sin, cos, tan and their inverse functions.
How do I calculate sin, cos and tan?
Set the angle mode first, then tap sin, cos or tan, type the angle and press =. For example, in DEG mode sin(30) gives 0.5.
What is the difference between log and ln?
log is the base-10 logarithm, so log(1000) is 3. ln is the natural logarithm with base e, so ln(e) is 1.
How do I use powers and roots?
Use x², x³ or xy for powers, for example 2^10 = 1024. Use √ for square roots and ∛ for cube roots.
Can I use an online calculator in an exam?
Most exams only allow approved handheld calculators, and online tools are usually not permitted. Check your exam rules before you rely on any calculator.
Does it follow the order of operations?
Yes. It evaluates brackets, exponents, multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction, and it handles negative numbers and implicit multiplication.
Is my data saved or shared?
Calculations run in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Your history, memory value and DEG/RAD choice are stored only on your own device, and you can clear the history at any time.
